What I Value About My Work
I love working with the varying backgrounds and stories of my patients. WNC is lucky to have a strong local population who care about their health and the community.
About Tami Wessels Swift, MSN

Tami Wessels Swift has been a nurse practitioner for 17 years, starting in public health and moving into private practice 11 years ago. She focuses on wellness and health, helping her patients stay healthy and away from medications if possible, but also using them as a tool to help with symptoms.
Tami is originally from Iowa and has resided in Weaverville, NC for the last 17 years. She went to graduate school in Iowa and moved to North Carolina when her husband was transferred for his work. Tami's graduate thesis centered on pandemic care and how the community had responded in the past and was likely to respond in the future. Predictably, a pandemic ensued 15 years later.
Outside of work, Tami is a recent empty nester. She spends time traveling when she can and visiting her kids in Richmond, VA and Chapel Hill, NC. Tami was heavily involved in the Weaverville school community when her kids were students in the North Buncombe School District. She is proud of her service to the schools and her claim to fame is starting the successful, local race, The Chilly Challenge, at North Buncombe Middle School.
