Meet Dr. Brian Moore

Foodie & culinary specialist.  Family man.  Comprehensive patient care.

My Approach to Family Medicine

I really enjoy getting to know people. Our model of care allows us to interact with the person face to face and continuity of care is very important in our practice. I love getting the experience of working with entire family groups over years of time.

A co-founder of North Buncombe Family Medicine, Dr. Brian Moore began the practice with Dr. Henry McDade in 2006.  Since then he has provided full spectrum family medicine in Western North Carolina. After growing up in Lavonia, Georgia he attended the University of Georgia in Athens and is an avid supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs. He met his wife Dr. Ruchi Moore, a local OB/GYN, in Augusta, GA where they attended medical school. They began their residencies here in Asheville in 2002 and fell in love with Western North Carolina. After residency, Dr. Moore worked in Tanzania in 2005 and 2006 before opening NBFM with Dr. McDade.

When not serving his patients, Dr. Moore’s most enjoyable job is being a father to three young children. His personal hobbies include reading, hiking and kayaking. He also loves to cook and feels most gratified when he has a table full of family and friends to feed. Team Moore, the family nickname, is always hiking, kayaking, learning or doing a service project together. Their German shepherd, Lupin, frequently accompanies them on their adventures!

Dr. Moore was a founding member of Mission Health Partners, serving on their Board of Directors and as Chairman. He sought novel ways for physicians to work together, share best practices, and improve health outcomes while maintaining costs. In 2020 he helped found Pisgah Network, a clinically-integrated independent physician network, to help physicians take a forward step in improving healthcare in the WNC area.
