About Jessica Anewalt, MD

Dr. Jessica Anewalt 2

Dr. Jessica Anewalt is a board-certified Family Medicine physician serving individuals and families across all stages of life in Western North Carolina.

A summa cum laude graduate of Saint Louis University with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, she earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where she helped lead a student-run free clinic that deepened her commitment to community-centered care. She completed her residency training at Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville, where she developed a lasting connection to the region and its people — ultimately choosing Western North Carolina as her permanent home.

Dr. Anewalt has been a proud member of the North Buncombe Family Medicine team for over 10 years, bringing her kind, compassionate demeanor and patient-centered approach to every patient she serves. She places great value on building meaningful relationships and delivering thoughtful, comprehensive care to individuals and families at every stage of life.

Outside of the office, she enjoys the outdoors alongside her husband, a local teacher, and their two children. Whether hiking mountain trails, paddleboarding at a nearby lake, or camping under the stars, they embrace all that Western North Carolina has to offer and are proud to call it home.
