I take pride in being personally involved with families as they work to achieve happier, healthier lives for themselves and their loved ones. I love having our practice located in the Smoky Mountains and seeing the work we do to serve the local community.
About Henry McDade, MD
Dr. Henry McDade started his career as Co-Founder of North Buncombe Family Medicine in 2006. He has a strong love for making a difference in the health of those living in the area. Originally hailing from Durham, NC, he has resided in Asheville, North Carolina, while practicing medicine, for over 17 years.
He studied Zoology at North Carolina University, graduating as class Valedictorian. Dr. McDade then earned his Masters in Microbiology from Duke University in Durham, NC. He gained his medical degree from Duke University's School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville.
As a father of a charming son, Dr. McDade takes special interest in Children's Health as well as Hypertension, Cardiac Health and Diabetes. Outside of his medical practice he enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid gardener, lover of outdoors, and home project aficionado.
A member of the Mountain Area Health Education Center's Board of Directors and Mission Health Partners Quality Committee, Dr. McDade has also authored seven journal articles.
